These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of ScoutPing, available at https://scoutping.clearexplained.com/, operated by ScoutPing, a product by Andriy Freyik (“ScoutPing”, “Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By accessing or using ScoutPing, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use ScoutPing.
Important summary
ScoutPing is an independent browser-extension product for monitoring Upwork search result pages while Chrome or a Chromium-based browser is running.
ScoutPing is not affiliated with Upwork. You are responsible for using ScoutPing in a way that complies with Upwork’s terms, policies, and your own account obligations.
ScoutPing does not guarantee jobs, interviews, clients, contracts, revenue, or business outcomes.
Proposal Assistant creates editable draft text only. ScoutPing does not submit proposals, click the final submit button, or apply to jobs for you.
1. About ScoutPing
ScoutPing is a browser-extension workflow tool that helps users monitor Upwork search result pages, filter noisy listings, maintain a local job inbox, and receive alerts for potentially relevant jobs.
ScoutPing may also include Proposal Assistant, an optional feature that helps create editable proposal drafts from job context, your proposal settings, and your saved profile summary. Proposal Assistant does not submit proposals or applications to Upwork.
ScoutPing may include Free and Pro features. Pro features may include advanced rules, country exclusions, editable search URL, previous-client filtering, Telegram alerts, higher limits, and multi-device access within plan limits.
ScoutPing is not a general website scraper and does not provide guaranteed 24/7 server-side Upwork scanning.
2. Relationship with Upwork
ScoutPing is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, approved by, or officially connected with Upwork.
Upwork is a trademark of its respective owner.
You are responsible for using ScoutPing in a way that complies with Upwork’s terms, policies, automation rules, account rules, and any other obligations that apply to your Upwork account or workflow.
3. Eligibility and user responsibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use ScoutPing.
You are solely responsible for:
- how you use ScoutPing;
- the search URLs, keywords, rules, and filters you configure;
- complying with applicable laws and third-party platform terms;
- reviewing jobs before taking action;
- reviewing, editing, and verifying any proposal draft before using it;
- your own proposals, messages, contracts, payments, and client relationships;
- keeping your account and browser environment secure.
4. Runtime requirement
ScoutPing’s active scanning runtime is the browser extension.
Extension-based scanning works while Chrome or a Chromium-based browser is running, the ScoutPing extension is installed and enabled, and the relevant Upwork search result pages or extension runtime are available.
ScoutPing does not provide guaranteed 24/7 server-side Upwork scanning.
Server-side scanning is not the active product runtime.
5. Product limitations
ScoutPing helps you monitor Upwork search results and receive alerts for matching jobs.
ScoutPing does not guarantee:
- that every job will be detected;
- that every alert will arrive instantly;
- that Upwork search results will remain available;
- that Upwork’s interface will stay compatible with ScoutPing;
- that Telegram or other third-party services will always be available;
- that using ScoutPing will result in job invitations, interviews, contracts, revenue, or earnings.
Proposal Assistant drafts may be incomplete, inaccurate, unsuitable, or require editing. You are responsible for checking every draft before using it.
ScoutPing may change, degrade, require updates, or stop working if Upwork changes its website, search results, interface, access rules, page structure, technical behavior, or policies.
6. Accounts and sign-in
Some features require account access. ScoutPing may use email-code sign-in, session tokens, browser extension storage, and backend entitlement checks to manage account state.
You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep access to your email account secure.
You are responsible for activity that occurs through your ScoutPing account or authenticated browser extension session.
7. Pro access and entitlement state
Pro access is controlled by ScoutPing backend entitlement state.
A successful payment does not directly unlock Pro from local browser state alone. The extension checks ScoutPing backend entitlement state to determine whether Pro features are available.
The intended billing flow is:

You should not start payment from an unauthenticated or unverified email state. Signing in before checkout helps tie Pro access to the correct account and makes restore access possible on another device.
Pro access may be limited by device limits, billing status, cancellation, refund, failed renewal, chargeback, payment dispute, abuse prevention, or other entitlement state.
8. Device limits
Some plans may include multi-device access within plan limits.
If your account reaches its active device limit, a new browser profile or device may still sign in, but Pro controls may remain locked on that specific device until you remove an old device or otherwise regain available device capacity.
The extension may show a “Device limit reached” state when the account is Pro but the current browser profile is outside the allowed device limit.
9. Browser-wide floating badge
ScoutPing may use a lightweight global content script to display a floating alert badge and local job alert UI while you browse the web.
This floating badge is local extension UI. It helps you notice new Upwork job alerts without keeping the extension popup open.
The global content script is not used to collect arbitrary website content, form fields, passwords, payment data, banking information, private messages, or browsing history.
Upwork scanning is limited to Upwork search result pages.
10. Proposal Assistant
Proposal Assistant is an optional drafting feature that may help create editable proposal text from job context, your proposal settings, and your saved profile summary.
Proposal Assistant does not submit proposals, click the final submit button, communicate with clients, send messages, or apply to jobs for you.
You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, verifying, and deciding whether to use any generated draft. You are also responsible for ensuring that any proposal you submit is accurate, lawful, truthful, and compliant with Upwork’s terms and your own professional obligations.
Proposal Assistant may rely on OpenAI if you choose to save and use your own OpenAI API key. Your use of OpenAI is subject to OpenAI’s applicable terms and policies.
11. Payments, subscriptions, and Paddle
Some ScoutPing features may require payment.
Payments may be processed by Paddle. Paddle may act as merchant of record, authorised reseller, payment processor, tax handler, invoice provider, subscription manager, and buyer-support provider for purchases made through Paddle checkout.
If you purchase a subscription, it may renew automatically unless canceled before the next billing date.
You can manage or cancel your subscription through the link in your Paddle receipt or subscription confirmation email, through Paddle buyer support, through any billing flow we provide, or through support instructions made available by ScoutPing.
12. Cancellations and refunds
Payments, cancellations, refunds, tax handling, invoices, and buyer support may be managed through Paddle.
If you cancel a recurring subscription, cancellation usually takes effect at the end of the current billing period, unless Paddle, applicable law, or the specific checkout terms state otherwise.
If a refund is issued, access to the related paid features may end.
Your use of ScoutPing is also subject to our Refund Policy.
Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights that apply under applicable law.
13. Acceptable use
You must not use ScoutPing to:
- violate laws, regulations, third-party rights, or third-party platform terms;
- misrepresent affiliation, endorsement, sponsorship, or approval by Upwork or any third party;
- interfere with, disrupt, overload, abuse, or bypass security of ScoutPing systems;
- upload, transmit, or distribute malicious code;
- attempt to access accounts, data, or systems without authorization;
- resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute ScoutPing except as expressly permitted;
- reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code except where prohibited from restriction by law;
- use ScoutPing for deceptive, abusive, harmful, spammy, or unlawful activity.
14. License and intellectual property
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use ScoutPing for your internal personal or business workflow.
ScoutPing, including its software, interface, branding, text, design, and documentation, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
These Terms do not transfer ownership of ScoutPing or any intellectual property rights to you.
15. Third-party services
ScoutPing may rely on or integrate with third-party platforms, tools, browsers, APIs, payment providers, or services, including Upwork, Telegram, Paddle, OpenAI, Chrome, Chromium-based browsers, and hosting/API providers.
We are not responsible for third-party availability, rules, policies, outages, interface changes, pricing changes, access restrictions, or technical behavior.
16. Privacy
Your use of ScoutPing is subject to our Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy explains what data ScoutPing processes, including browser extension storage, Upwork job metadata, Proposal Assistant settings and draft context, OpenAI API key storage, Telegram alert configuration, account state, billing identifiers, device state, and the floating badge behavior.
17. Availability and changes
ScoutPing is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, permanent compatibility with Upwork or third-party services, or that ScoutPing will meet every individual need.
We may update, improve, modify, limit, suspend, or discontinue parts of ScoutPing at any time.
18. No guarantee of results
ScoutPing is a monitoring and workflow tool.
ScoutPing does not guarantee proposals, replies, interviews, job invitations, clients, contracts, revenue, income, ranking, response rates, proposal quality, proposal accuracy, or business success.
You remain responsible for evaluating opportunities and deciding whether and how to respond.
19. Suspension and termination
You may stop using ScoutPing at any time.
We may suspend, limit, or terminate access if we reasonably believe that:
- you violated these Terms;
- your payment is overdue, disputed, reversed, refunded, or subject to chargeback;
- your use creates legal, security, operational, payment, or abuse risk;
- we are required to do so by law, platform rules, payment provider requirements, or security obligations.
20. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScoutPing will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunity, expected savings, clients, contracts, or reputation.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or related to ScoutPing will not exceed the amount you paid for ScoutPing during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD $100, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability. In those cases, the limitations apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law.
21. Mandatory consumer rights
Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited, including mandatory consumer rights that may apply in your country or region.
If these Terms conflict with mandatory law or applicable Paddle Buyer Terms for a transaction processed by Paddle, the mandatory law or applicable Paddle terms may apply to that transaction.
22. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the website, extension, email, or another reasonable method.
Continued use of ScoutPing after the effective date of updated Terms means you accept the revised Terms.
23. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, excluding conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protection law requires otherwise.
